Cathy - As I've said, I'm not Project Noah and can't clarify anything about them. Please contact them directly with your concerns - their website (http://www.projectnoah.org/) should be able to provide you with contact information.

I'd like to verify that donated homeschool curriculum is given to families in crisis, not sold to them. Can you clarify that for me? I have some books I'm willing to give, but not to someone who is going to sell them to those in need.
Thanks for clarifying for me,
Cathy

Cheryl: Here is information for North Carolina. These groups will be better able than I to point you to local resources. Good luck!

http://nche.com/ - North Carolinians for Home Education. Statewide organization formed in 1984. Seems largely Christian in character.

http://www.ha-nc.org/ - Homeschool Alliance of North Carolina. Statewide organization formed in 2003. Seems largely secular in character.

Just to clarify - I'm not Project Noah, but I'm happy to get the word out about them. If you can't afford to ship whatever you have to donate, you might try contacting the folks at Project Noah to see if they can help you with that, or maybe your local homeschool group(s) would like to pool funds (and goods) to make a group donation. Media mail shipping would likely be the cheapest - still expensive but perhaps manageable by a group?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a donation site for curriculum, etc. I have approximately 5 standard office-file boxes full of curriculum ranging from the workbooks you pick up at Wal-Mart and BJs to Abeka curriculum texts. All of it is unwritten in and in excellent condition. I would like to donate them to an organization that benefits homeschoolers but couldn't afford to ship them. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you . Debbie

I am a homeschooler and I would like to know if you fullfill any clothing needs for homeschoolers affected by Katrina. My son has just grown out of size 24 months/2T summer clothing and I would like them to go to a homeschool family. Please let me know where I could send them.
Thank you
