She’s learning to read and write in the same maner that she learned to speak, with approximations getting closer to correct. I’m only noting the misspelings here, she spells correctly too.

I would love to read Gnys at Wrk : A Child Learns to Write and Read, by Glenda Bissex. She kept a journal of her son’s self-led journey to literacy, beginning with his query, “RU DF?” to her when she was ignoring him while she was on the phone. John Holt talks about it in How Children Learn, which I think is one of the best books ever written.
